It's been 2 1/2 years since I posted anything new to this blog. At one time I was a very active blogger; that was before blogs actually existed. In the 90's I wrote for my own website called WynnWords. I have since let that site disappear and I started this one. Since then, in 2006, we've been taken over by facebook and then Twitter.

Twitter is great, I have a Twitter account and I write things on it almost every day. You are forced to write in 140 character write-bites. It's fun to do. But if you want to have a long continuous commentary on something you then have to daisychain a bunch of Tweets/Twits together. Kind of like the old Burma-Shave signs on the highways of my youth.

But I am going to reactivate this blog, Going Post-it, which is weird because the idea of Post-its is very similar to Twittering. I am fairly certain that if this blog ever picks up speed that 3M will be knocking at the door asking me - no, telling me - to remove the name of their product from my blog. But until they tell me I can't use it anymore, I will be calling this Going Post-it. I like the play on words and the vague possibility of going insane and posting mad notes all over the Webiverse.
All I ever did when I used to proto-blog was to let off steam and rant about everything that caught my mind from silly cultural or social weirdnesses to serious political situations around the world.
All any of this stuff is is just opinionating. I really don't know squat about anything, I have a smattering of information about a lot of things but very little in-depth knowledge about anything. Which makes me like every other blogger on the Internet: dumb and shallow. What I try to add is my own style of humor to it. Think of this as a case of style over substance which is about all I can offer.
It's unlikely that I will ever get anyone to follow this blog for the simple reason that I probably won't spend the time I should publicizing it. I don't think that anyone knows about this at all. In fact, I forgot it entirely myself for two years!
Anyway, there it is. I will still be Twittering, and I will be trying to disengage from facebook which is a sort of addictive, self-promoting medium for most of us nobodies to use to pretend we are important. Or just to show the world pictures of our grandkids. ekw
